Canada welcomed over 1.3 million new immigrants from 2016-2021, and over 400,000 permanent residents in 2022 alone. But despite the irrefutable role immigrants play in our country’s success, there are considerable challenges related to settlement, access to resources, and the ability to thrive in a new nation. Whether it’s finding a job, sufficient housing or healthcare, access to government and mental health support, or the ongoing difficulty in translating international professional credentials - newcomers face obstacles at every turn.
